MTV SELECTS MARIANAS TRENCH FOR “PUSH” INITIATIVE AND NEW VIDEO DEBUT

MTV has selected Canadian alt-pop band Marianas Trench for its multiplatform music initiative PUSH – Play Until Someone Hears, push.mtv.com, that connects emerging artists with MTV’s audience. Starting Monday January 30, Marianas Trench music videos, artist IDs, performances and interviews will be featured across MTV’s multiple channels and screens, including MTV, mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV.com. The week will culminate with the video premiere for “Fallout” on February 2.

Marianas Trench have over 2 million youtube views of their current video “Haven’t Had Enough” and have a combined 10 million in audience of all their official videos on youtube. Marianas Trench has already sold over 100,000 songs in the US to date. “Haven’t Had Enough” the first single from their new album, is currently climbing the National T40 radio chart.

This past November, their new album Ever After debuted at #5 on the Billboard New Artist Chart.

Marianas Trench just completed touring across the country with Simple Plan and will return to the US to tour this April.

Marianas Trench fans are truly the best fans out there! The results are in for the contest we ran in support of Change for Change and you all kicked some serious butt. Together with all of our mighty Trench fans we managed to raise $18 861.42 bringing the grand total going to Covenant House to $21 226.42. We want to thank everyone who participated, your hard work is going to go a long way to help keep kids off the streets. The 3 winners raised over $2000 each and were all within $20 of each other so to be fair we decided to give them all Guest list spots because they did such an amazing job! We will be doing this again next year and we have some really big ideas coming for that contest!!! Congratulations goes to:

We are very happy that many of you have decided to participate in the Change for Change contest that we are running to raise funds to help keep kids off the streets. Please check out our wall for details of the contest as you can win some pretty rad prizes. Many of you are choosing to work in teams which is great as it is the best way to raise money for the charity. Remember all funds must be in the form of a check or money order made out to COVENANT HOUSE and received by them on or before March 1st. You can include multiple cheques or money orders and they will be considered as one entry.

One of the smartest things I've seen people doing is contacting businesses to donate money for the cause. The donations for them are tax deductible. We have posted a letter of authenticity for them to download so that they can be assured that it is a registered charity. You can include a cheque in their name with your entry and include their contact info when you submit your entry so that they may receive a tax deductible receipt. Please post comments of what you are doing or if you have any great ideas on how to help people raise money!

Are you Marianas Trench's biggest fan? Would you like to win the ultimate Marianas prize package? How would you like to be a the ambassador for your school, work or community? Well here's what you need to do...

Marianas Trench is partnering with Change for Change, a fund-raiser that supports troubled youth. The goal is to see how much spare change can you raise in one month. Get your friends, classmates, family, co-workers and anyone else you know to gather up all those old dusty change jars they have lying around. It would be awesome to get one person or a group of people in every high school or college/university across Canada and the USA to participate and raise funds by getting everyone in their school to donate. Please get your school's administrators permission if you choose to post flyers throughout your schools for this great cause. The more people we can get involved the better. The goal is to collect as much spare change as possible! Whether you do it through your school, business, or by going through every couch cushion you know of... Change for Change WANTS IT ALL!!! Don't limit yourself, be creative!

The contest runs from now until March 1st and all funds go directly to Covenant House in Vancouver which is a non profit organization. Covenant House is an amazing organization that helps youth aged 16-24 who are fleeing from physical, sexual or emotional abuse at home. These kids often have no one to turn to and no where to go and usually end up on the street. Covenant House provides them with a safe place and a second chance and this is a great opportunity to stand up and make a difference in someone else's life. We are offering prizes to the top 3 people who raise the most money for the Charity. HERE ARE THE PRIZES!

Last year you plastered your city with flyers, got decked out in MTrench gear, blasted your MT music and took over the streets with MT style parades then submitted a video to show how you celebrated Marianas Trench day! (Oct 3rd)

MT fans are so creative that we decided to do another awesome video contest! Think glee but Marianas Trench style - your own MT production or Masterpiece Theatre if you will!

Here are the guidelines…

The video should be no longer than 3 minutes

Include the Masterpiece Theatre CD or Cover 3 times

Mention ‘Cross My Heart’ 3 times

Mention ‘Good To You’ 3 times

No bad language

No Nudity

Dancing isn’t a requirement, but is recommended! Be as original as you want. It is encouraged.

Pop-punk foursome Marianas Trench display soaring ambition and decisive technical prowess on their U.S. debut 'Masterpiece Theatre, out September 28 on 604 Records, and the results are "a stellar release…that stands out from the pack by bringing something truly different and exciting to the table" (AMG).

We all just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing tour. It was the best tour by far and we truly had a blast. I can say without a doubt that we have the most amazing fans by far and the openings acts on the tour all agreed. The New Cities, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Mission District couldn't believe how amazing you all were. The New Cities in particular said that Trench fans numbering 2000 would drown out another bands crowd of 20,000. Simply nuts.

Marianas Trench have received a Western Canadian Music Awards Nomination for Pop Recording of the Year for Masterpiece Theatre!

The Western Canadian Music Awards take place in Brandon, MB from September 17th - September 20th 2009.

Last Sunday Marianas Trench made quite the entrance at the MuchMusic Video Awards, the guys arrived to the red carpet on a float led by an entire marching band and followed by a cheerleading squad!! How many people can say they've done that? Click here to check out a video of the grand entrance!

A big congratulations also goes out to Marianas Trench and director Colin Minihan for winning Director of the Year for the "Cross My Heart" video!
