Marianas Trench to release U.S. debut album

Pop-punk foursome Marianas Trench display soaring ambition and decisive technical prowess on their U.S. debut 'Masterpiece Theatre, out September 28 on 604 Records, and the results are "a stellar release…that stands out from the pack by bringing something truly different and exciting to the table" (AMG).

Built around a high-concept title track, the album (which is nearing platinum sales in Canada) features three kaleidoscopic movements of "Masterpiece Theatre" that balance the vocal theatrics of Queen with the more hymnal qualities of the Beach Boys. Meanwhile, the propulsively punky pop-rock of standout track "Cross My Heart" sounds like what would happen if Foo Fighters, Green Day and Ben Folds Five had a party.

We all just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing tour. It was the best tour by far and we truly had a blast. I can say without a doubt that we have the most amazing fans by far and the openings acts on the tour all agreed. The New Cities, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Mission District couldn't believe how amazing you all were. The New Cities in particular said that Trench fans numbering 2000 would drown out another bands crowd of 20,000. Simply nuts.

Marianas Trench have received a Western Canadian Music Awards Nomination for Pop Recording of the Year for Masterpiece Theatre!

The Western Canadian Music Awards take place in Brandon, MB from September 17th - September 20th 2009.

Last Sunday Marianas Trench made quite the entrance at the MuchMusic Video Awards, the guys arrived to the red carpet on a float led by an entire marching band and followed by a cheerleading squad!! How many people can say they've done that? Click here to check out a video of the grand entrance!

A big congratulations also goes out to Marianas Trench and director Colin Minihan for winning Director of the Year for the "Cross My Heart" video!
